Hertford County 4-H partnered with Ahoskie Elementary School on October 5, 2016 to participate in the 4-H National Youth Science Day. 189 youth participated in the Drone Discovery 4-H National Science Day. The youth were given the challenge to build a foam drone to fly over a specified area relating to an agricultural scenario they were given. The youth were able to learn hands on about force and motion. The youth learned about flight dynamics, why drones are used, and careers in engineering. National Youth Science Day is held in conjunction with National 4-H Week which is always the first week in October.
