2024 Upper Coastal Plain Corn Hybrid Yield Results

Find yield information from 7 dryland sites (Bertie, Edgecombe, Greene, Halifax, Nash, Northampton, and Washington counties) and 3 irrigated sites (Bertie, Nash, and Northampton counties). A Hertford County location was planted but not harvested due to drought conditions. Also below find the 2024 NC OVT corn yield results.

2024 N.C. Cooperative Extension CHROME Foliar Fungicide Corn Evaluation

Corn foliar fungicide trials were conducted at three locations utilizing an agricultural spray drone to apply Aproach Prima, Delaro, Miravis Neo, and Veltyma to compare to an untreated control. This was a demonstration only as there was no replication of treatments within the field.

Corn Wireworm Phenology Study


  • This trial was organized by Dr. Anders Huseth (NC State Field Crops Ecology Extension Specialist) and Erin Eure (N.C. Cooperative Extension Area Specialized Agent, Commercial Fruits & Vegetables)
  • The objective of this study was to collect weekly adult male corn wireworm counts from pheromone sticky traps to model adult activity throughout the growing season. 4 traps were placed along the outer edges of a sweet potato field.
  • The data will be used to model population dynamics overtime with the goal of developing an accurate threshold and better-timed management decisions for making insecticide treatments
