Swarm Season Is Here!

(Updated: April 14, 2023, 10:01 a.m.)

You all know the old saying, "April Shower brings may flowers", right?  Well, let's add to that, "Spring brings bees."  This time of the year is swarm season for our little bee friends. This process is how our honey bees naturally multiply. I know everyone is not a honey bee enthusiast, however there are some around that are and they are willing to assist to relocate them for you. No, they are not just silly people walking around in a non-attractive, mostly white suit with a hat and veil on trying to make a fashion statement. They are those bee enthusiast that have a vested interest in helping to preserve our bee population.

If you have a swarm or see a swarm of honey bees don't spray give us a call at the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Hertford County Center (252)358-7822 and we will assist in getting in touch with someone that can help. Help us save the bees.

Swarm Season is here! Call don't spray. Flyer
