2021 NC Governor Volunteer Service Award Nominations

— Written By

Do you know someone that is making a difference in our community through volunteering? Here is your chance to get them recognized for a job well done.

Nominations are now being accepted for the 2021 Governor’s Volunteer Service Award. The awards program, created by the Office of the Governor in 1979, recognizes North Carolina’s most dedicated volunteers. Through the years, the award has been bestowed on thousands of North Carolinians who have shown concern and compassion for their neighbors by volunteering in their local community.

Each county selects up to ten individuals, businesses, groups/teams and the one paid Director of Volunteers to be recognized for their outstanding contributions to their communities. One of the nominees will be nominated for the Governor’s Medallion Award for Volunteer Service, which is awarded to the top 20 volunteers in the state. A local committee evaluates the nominations.

Access the 2021 Nomination form and information. This year you can fill out and submit your nomination online or download the word document and fill out and mail completed forms to the address below.

The nomination deadline is January 20, 2021, by 4:30 p.m. If mailing please return the completed forms to: N.C. Cooperative Extension of Hertford County, Attn: Rebecca Castello, 301 W. Tryon St. Winton, NC 27986.

We look forward to hearing about our great volunteers here in Hertford County.
